Gather the kids up, pack some snacks and your favourite christmas CD for the car and plan a trip around the streets of Medowie to check out the ever-growing number of homes sporting extravagant light displays this year.

Medowie resident Nat McFarlane told News Of The Area, “We love putting up all the Christmas lights every year.”

“The look on our girls faces is just priceless.”

“Their grandad loved putting lights up every year before his passing and it’s great we can continue the family tradition,” she said.

Resident of the infamous Eagle Close, who have been lighting up Medowie for fourteen years, Corynne Darcy, told News Of The Area, “We have wonderful neighbours who all support each other and enjoy seeing the happiness it brings to all the children that come to visit.”

“Being a local school teacher, I have the children come running up to me excitedly at school thrilled because they’ve visited the lights.”

“It’s a special thing to be a part of.”

The growing ‘Medowie Christmas Lights’ page on facebook has a list of streets not to be missed, and many residents are proudly sharing pics of their displays.

Listed within the Medowie Christmas Lights group is a thoughtful map created by the ladies at R&R property.

R&R property Managing Director Denise Haynes told News Of The Area, ‘The google interactive R & R Property Christmas Lights Map allows parents to go in and see where the lights are, what streets, what addresses, and some have photos attached as well.”

“In fact we would absolutely love it if the community could notify us about any homes we have missed and even take photos of the Christmas light displays to send to us so we can add them to our map.”

“They can contact us through our Facebook pages R and R Property, Medowie Real Estate Or of course just give us a call on 4984 5766,” she said.

Interested locals who are social media savvy are encouraged to look up the R&R property map, and to join the Facebook group ‘Medowie Christmas Lights’ for addresses to visit on your travels.
