THE property market in Port Stephens continues to bubble along with the area still in big demand by families looking for a sea-change, investors and retirees.

Close proximity to cities such as Sydney, Newcastle and Maitland, as well as improved road and traffic conditions, are just some of the incentives that the Port remains an exciting place to live.

Property market analyser On The House revealed that 91 properties were last year sold in Anna Bay, 10 more than the previous 12 months and the highest since 2007 (104).

A total of 30 properties were sold last quarter, an increase by 36 per cent, and the median price in Anna Bay for the same period was $503,000, up 1 per cent, the report stated.

Charlie Elias, sales agent with Anna Bay’s only real estate agency Port Stephens Complete, said these figures demonstrated that there was no better time for vendors wishing to test the market.

“In recent months we have had plenty of interest from buyers looking to invest in the Anna Bay/Boat Harbour/Fishermans Bay area,” he said.

“The demand for property is strong but we have limited listings, and any rentals that comes on the market are quickly snapped up.”
