THE Medowie Lions Club Art and Craft Show have had yet another successful year, with a wonderful number of entrants in this years show across the many and varied categories.

The craft entrants were bigger and better than any previous year, showing the increased interested in this yearly community run Lions Project.

The organisers opened the show on friday evening, to a crowd of special guests and invitees.

Art and Craft Show Coordinator Helen Riemann told News Of The Area “It is our fifth year running the show this year, and we couldn’t be more pleased with how it went.”

“The art entrants were excellent and the craft items were received so well by our visitors to the show.”

“The steampunk display drew a lot of interest as well.”

“This year we had our greatest number of visitors through the doors, which is really lovely,” she said.

One of the major sponsors for the last three years, Gavin Smith from Medowie Pharmacy told News Of The Area, “The quality of Art and Craft is just outstanding, and I am thrilled to be involved each year.”

“I’m proud to say I’ve bought quite a few pieces over the years that hang proudly in the store.”

Kate Washington MP, told News Of The Area, “Congratulations must go to the Medowie Lions Club for another wonderful show, and for providing an outlet for the talent of Port Stephens to be showcased and celebrated.”

The people’s choice award went to Linda Camac, for her beautiful artwork.

The photography award was taken out by Mandy Ellis for her beautiful entry.

The Junior award went to Zac Mason.
