MEDOWIE Rugby Club prides themselves on being a ‘family club’ and this year’s presentation day reflected that.

Held at the home ground, Boyd Oval, many friends and family all joined for what has been described as an amazing memorable day.

The senior boys who made the finals were recognised, as were the four boys who represented the club for Wildfire representative rugby – Blake Green, Justin Hough, Troy Such and Divan Bezuidenhout.
Major awards were handed out on the day to the following recipients for their hard working during the season:

Making Marauders Award – Aiden Crump

Herbie Gallagher Award – Kyron Wood
Forward of the year – Ben Holbert
Back of the Year – Jessey Bridge
Players Player – Matthew Bourke
Under 14’s Clubman of the year – Caleb Wood
Under 11’s Clubman of the year – Corey Morgan
Under 10’s Clubman of the year – Michael Moffat
Under 7’s Clubman of the year – Jack Griffith

The club was led this year by a dedicated committee, a group of people who went above and beyond for the club.
The committee members were Rob Time, Jimmy Hough, Dwayne Murphy, Tommy Evangleo, Mark Underwood, Mick Mildren, Amanda Hough and Kel Mason.

Big days for the club this year included their incredibly successful ‘Herbie’s Night’ and ‘Pink Day’.

Lisa Cook from Medowie Rugby Club told News Of The Area, “It was a busy year, and we hope that 2017 is even bigger and better.”

The club is looking forward to next year and would encourages high school aged boys to stay in Medowie and play locally next year.
