AGE is certainly no barrier to fun, and there’s no better group to demonstrate that than the Medowie Senior Citizens Association.

The group meets every first and third Tuesday of the month, at 10am in the Medowie Community Hall.

They are a wonderfully active group, and invite any new members to come along, have a cuppa and see what they get up to.

Entry each week is $3, and members are asked to bring a plate of food to share if they are able.

Every second meeting the group have a guest speaker, where they invite prominent community members to provide valuable insight and information about their area of expertise.

The group is largely self-funded, and they run raffles and auctions to raise funds for activities and events the group participate in.

But their fundraising doesn’t stop there.

Bob Parish, President of Medowie Seniors, told News Of The Area, “We are also active fundraisers, contributing to lots of charities over the course of the year.”

Medowie Seniors are on the lookout for any new members, who are interested in meeting new people, perhaps learning some new skills, and enjoying fun times.

Mr Parish invites new members to give the group a go, “You’ll be surprised if you come and visit us. We certainly break the stigma that being a seniors group often carries with it. We are just about companionship, friendship and fun.”

To join, please head on over to their next meeting. For further information, you can contact Bob on (02) 49817946.
