The Australian Small Business Champion awards is the only national recognition program for Australian small businesses.

The program aims to recognise outstanding Australian small businesses and encourage high standards of excellence in small business practice.

“The Australian Small Business Champion Awards is a way to recognise the efforts of small business people, whose efforts contribute to the prosperity and vitality of communities across Australia,” said Steve Loe, Managing Director of Precedent Productions, and founder of the Awards.

“As a small business owner myself, I know the vision and dedication to excellence required to succeed.”

“These traits have been displayed in abundance by all of our 2018 Small Business Champions.”

Kim Oakhill, founder and owner of Helpful Love, received an award statuette, certificate, and gained national recognition as an industry leader.

Small businesses from across Australia delivered an impressive array of entries, with winner representing a broad range of industries from all states and territories.

Helpful Love, founded and based in Medowie, is a community and directory of handpicked vendors who offer alternative approaches to gift giving, when someone you know is going through a difficult time.

In tough times, it is often hard to know how to provide support or show that we care.

Sending flowers is a lovely gesture, but sometimes, more practical support is needed – someone to take care of the laundry, clean the house, a comforting remedial massage, or nourishing meals prepared and delivered to the door.

Kim Oakhill has created a business to provide this specialised and unique service, and has been reawarded for her efforts.
