WHILE drought conditions linger across NSW, MidCoast Council says it is closely monitoring water storage across the region in the coming weeks and is urging everyone to be water-wise.

Currently water storages are full, but the dry, hot weather during the holiday period means that usage figures are peaking.
“While we haven’t reached the trigger points for introducing water restrictions just yet, the next few weeks are crucial and we’re closely monitoring usage, rainfall, river and storage levels,” said Council’s Director of Water Services, Brendan Guiney.
“We are asking our community to help us out by being mindful of water use over the coming weeks and taking part in our voluntary summer water saving program,” says Mr Guiney.
The key message is ‘don’t spray in the middle of the day’ – reduce your outdoor water use between the hours of 9am and 4pm. MidCoast Council continues to closely monitor the situation and will advise the community should water restrictions become necessary.
