CHRISTMAS is still two months away but the members of the Myall Community Arts and Craft Centre are already collecting gifts to donate to the Salvation Army.

“The Centre does this every year,” Janette Coppock told News Of The Area.

“Last year’s [donation drive] was a great success and we are hoping this year will be no different.”

While many of the members donate to the appeal, the centre is calling on the wider community of Tea Gardens and Hawks Nest to leave a gift under the tree.

“There is a small Christmas tree set up just inside the door of the centre where gifts can be left,” Janette said.

“Gifts for all ages would be welcome.”

“Mums and Dads deserve a treat as well as the children.”

And there’s no need to wrap the gifts.

“We need to know the suitable age group before we wrap them.”

‘’If you can, donations of wrapping paper would also be welcome.’’

Gifts can be left up until the first week in November.

The drop-off point is the Myall Arts and Craft Centre behind the Visitors Centre on Myall Street in Tea Gardens.

And don’t forget there are plenty of beautiful handmade decorations to grace your tree or home for sale at the Centre’s shop which is open to the public seven days a week.
