AN array of hats and bonnets loaded with piles of eggs, rabbits and fluffy feathers featured at Easter hat parades held at schools around the region last week.

Homemade carrots, an Easter egg dispensing hat and others that defied gravity by extending high above the heads of tiny pupils were amongst the wacky and imaginative designs on show.
Smiles were the order of the day as each class proudly paraded their creations of all shapes and sizes in front of parents, friends and relatives.
Tea Gardens Public School Principal Mr Mark Clemson said the event was a huge success.
“Students paraded proudly around our courtyard beaming with joy as the onlookers returned the smiles,” he said.
At Bulahdelah Central School, Year 1 student Annabelle Smith told News Of The Area the parade “was so much fun”.
“The hats were all amazing and really pretty and colourful,” she said.
To add to the egg-citement of the day, the Easter Bunny made surprise visits to Tea Gardens and Bulahdelah leaving the younger students some yummy treats.
Hat parades have been a highlight of school calendars for generations, and judging by the mass of contagious smiles, this year’s colourful eggs-travaganza was no exception.
