This month’s program kicks off with a kids Blue Light Disco on Friday 13 April, followed by a fun day for the whole community on Saturday 28 April.

The disco will be held at the School of Arts Hall from 5.00 pm and police are looking forward to joining the young groovers on the dance floor and showing off their funky moves.

Senior Constable Ash Ray said it will be a great way to celebrate the end of the school term.

“It is all about getting the kids active and giving them a fun time in a safe environment,” he said.

“There will be dancing, games and plenty of prizes on offer to keep the kids entertained.”

The Blue Light program was launched in Bulahdelah last year and continues to go from strength to strength.

Ash said the success of the program is due to the hard work of the committee, the dedicated volunteers and the support of the local community.

“It is about engaging with the community and strengthening the relationship between the youth and police,” he said.

“We want to show the community, particularly the youth, that we are here for them.”

Ash said the Fun Day, which will be held at the end of the school holidays, is about bringing the whole community together.

A paper plane competition, displays from the emergency services and a host of other activities will be on offer during the day.

“We would love to see everyone there.” Ash said.

The disco and community day will be funded by the local Blue Light committee.
