Being a former player for the lower divisions of the Tigers when he resided in Sydney as a young bloke, now in his 60’s his love of the game and the Tigers is still very much alive and well.

Gary was this year’s winner of the Myall Coast News Footy Tipping Competition, collecting a double pass for himself and his wife to enjoy the NRL Grand Final which was played out last Sunday.

Speaking with Myall Coast News on Wednesday 30 September regarding his win, he said, “It’s amazing enough to win this competition run by the Myall Coast News, but I have actually won another competition I was a part of and using the same tipping strategy.”

“Studying the previous weeks games, keeping tabs on injured players, any suspensions and history of the teams opposing each other week to week has helped me to win this year,” he said.

“It’s now a tried and proven technique, and I’m looking forward to trying my luck again next year with the Myall Coast News competition,…if I’m allowed again,” he jokingly stated.

At the time of discussion, Gary was favouring the North Queensland Cowboys to win the Grand Final, but thinks the Brisbane Broncos may just out do their Northern opposition.
