There were a total of 27 clubs competing with nearly 200 swimmers with Myall Masters for the second year running winning their home carnival.

This was a great all round team performance particularly for the female swimmers in Myall, some of which were having there first inter branch swim, being Kate Maddison, Sharon Taylor, Cheryl Patterson, Jennifer Hyde, Shirley Darch and Jenni Chapman.

The top female Myall swimmers in their age groups were Catriona Hellicar, Liz McKay, Christene Sefton and Linda Stubbs.

Myall men, more than held their own in this carnival with top performances coming from Leon Bobako, Brad Jensen, Peter Kellaway, Peter King, Chris Lock, Chris Mobbs, Mal Motum, David Olsen, Trev Shorten, Adrian Reynolds and Michael Rose.

Positive comments were the order of the day from the other clubs and officials, however it’s likely Myall Masters will be on the radar of other clubs in the coming carnivals this season.

The weather, total organisation, catering and many helpers ensured that this carnival was a great success and will be certain to attract more swimmers in coming seasons.

It was a great sight on the Sunday morning after the carnival at Bennetts Beach to see so many swimmers from other clubs who stayed on for the weekend.
