Nambucca Valley Garden Club awards The Ann WIlliams Clark Medallion to long time club member

ZONE coordinator of the Nambucca Valley Garden Club Mrs Marion Watts is keen to share with the Nambucca Valley community the Club’s congratulations to Mrs May Harris.

Mrs Harris was presented with The Ann Williams Clark Medallion on Saturday 7 August.

The Ann Williams Clark Award is sponsored by the Garden Clubs of Australia.

The medallion is awarded to a member for outstanding service to a club.

Mrs Watts, when describing Mrs Harris activities in the Club said, “She has been a wonderful member of the club.

“She has been Treasurer of the club since its formation eight years ago.

“Mrs Watts has been very prominent in running the Macksville Garden Gala & Markets, held at Macksville Showground.

“The day has guest speakers, entertainment, plant stalls, a flower show.

“We haven’t been able to hold it recently owing to COVID restrictions.”

Mrs Watts told News Of The Area that 5000 people would go through the market.

All money raised goes to Macksville Hospital

“Mrs Watts is great in the club, she helps the older members get to the meetings and has morning tea all ready.

“She is a fabulous member, and also does so much outside of the club.

“She is devoted to her church, and works as a volunteer at a retirement village in Macksville as well.”
