Construction has started at the new master planned lifestyle community at Port Stephens.

Set on a 29.2 hectare site and located between the sea and the bush at Anna Bay, Ingenia’s new community will deliver 229 new homes and a $5 million plus clubhouse for over 55s.

The facility is planning to include a pool, library, lawn bowls green, cinema, gym and sports bar.

An approximate $7 million civil works contract has been awarded to local Newcastle company Robson Civil Projects, who are starting work at the Anna Bay site.

The building works will create more than 60 jobs.

Ingenia CEO Simon Owen told News Of The Area, “We look to use local trades and tenders will be going out to local builders to start work on the first homes and the $5-6 million dollar clubhouse which will anchor the development.”

“The model eliminates the requirement for retirees to pay stamp duty, creating an affordable entry price point and freeing up equity for retirees,” he said.

The homes will feature affordable single-level, low-maintenance living, making it perfect for retirees.

There will also be a hard stand area to accommodate caravans and boats.

Half of the residents at the new site are expected to come from outside the region with the rest moving from within the area freeing up stock for family buyers from April 2018 when residents are expected to start moving into the development.

Ingenia is not new to Port Stephens, as it currently manages One Mile Beach Holiday Park and Soldiers Point Big 4.
