For quite some time now, there’s been no way to cross the creek that runs through the park without heading back to the street.

But that’s all about to change thanks to the Tea Gardens/Hawks Nest Men’s Shed.

President of the Men’s Shed Rob Hughes said, “We got some old piers from the river to make a small bridge.”

Tea Gardens local, ‘Lofty’ donated his services and his very large crane to transport the logs and help out with the placement after they were cut and primed by volunteers from the Men’s Shed.

There’s still some work to go before the bridge is ready for foot traffic and a special dedication.

The Tea Garden/Hawks Nest Men’s Shed has more 50 members and is open Monday Tuesday and Thursday 8.30 till 12.30.

“It’s a great place to meet, have chat, maybe start a project, or just have a cup of tea,”Vice President Ray Curtis said.

The Men’s Shed is located in Wanya Road in the Tea Gardens’ Industrial estate.
