Catherine Cusack MLC last week announced Port Stephens Council had successfully applied for funding from the NSW Government’s Stronger Country Communities Fund.

Deputy Mayor Sarah Smith says the funds will improve accessibility to Raymond Terrace’s regional park.

“Shared pathways are a great way to make our parks more accessible and encourage our residents to get outside and enjoy their beautiful surroundings.”

Ms Smith said, “This is a critical piece of the puzzle for Boomerang Park. Over the past few years, Port Stephens Council made significant investments to create a public space that caters for everyone.

“This grant will help more people to enjoy all of the wonderful new facilities that Boomerang Park has to offer, which is a great result for our community,” she said.

The grant will fund a new 2.5 metre wide shared pathway network throughout Boomerang Park, as well as solar lighting, entry signage, landscaping and bike racks.
