The Cove team of 24 players plus supporters arrived at 9.30am and were greeted our usual substantial morning tea. Teams were selected and respective photos were taken followed by a lively game of bowls of 16 ends.

These teams posted some very close scores: Ray Cooper 10 (Cove)and Leigh Hunt 12 (TG); Steve Brown (Cove)16 and Mike Dellaca (TG) 10; Alan Holder (Cove) 12 and Alan Greenhalgh(TG) 16; Jill Young and John Yabsley a draw of 11 all; Allan Dagger (Cove) 15 and Henry Dallas (TG) 17; all very close games. Palm Lake had a home advantage and went on to post good scores.

The final score was Palm Lake TG the victors scoring 128 – 85.

All players then commenced to partake of lunch with the usual discussions between team members about how we could have won or lost if a certain shot had been taken.

Winners prizes and lucky door draws were distributed to players and guests.

Many thanks to Gail Gleeson of The Cove for organising their social visit with Tea Gardens suggesting that a shield by played for in future games.

The enjoyment that radiates between like-minded retirement resorts and a good game of bowls made for a great day and we are all looking forward to our next encounter in early 2020. Merry Christmas to everyone.
