Formed in 2010 Port Harmony aims to present professional quality choral music to the people of Port Stephens.

The men and women of the choir perform a wide array of sacred, secular and popular music at their two major concerts held annually in the Port Stephens region.

Port Harmony’s next major concert is being held on Saturday 24 June at 2pm at the Uniting Church, 174 Salamander Way, Salamander Bay.

Joanna Davies of Port Harmony told News Of The Area, “The concert is entitled ‘Let me tell you ‘bout the…..’ – a somewhat suggestive yet irresistible theme of whimsical, scintillating and comical songs that celebrate our natural world.”

“The songs that have been chosen will be sure to leave you buzzing with excitement,” she said.

Port Harmony’s musical director is renowned soprano, and vocal teacher, Kathryn Dries.

Kathryn, and  talented soprano, Kathleen Moore, will also be performing at the concert, accompanied by Newcastle pianist Michael Power.

Kathryn’s passion for the choir and her commitment to perfection has been noted by many; a passion and commitment that comes from the enjoyment she derives from leading the choir and engaging them in professional vocal tuition.

If you are interested in being considered as a member of Port Harmony an audition is required.

Tickets are $25 for the concert, and are available from www.eventbrite.com.au or Black Pepper at Salamander Shopping Centre.

For any further information in relation to either auditioning to become a member of the Port Harmony Concert, please call 0401 698 003.
