THE Port Hunter Marauders are open for registration for the 2016 season.

The rego days will take place on 22 September and 29 September at Boyd Oval at 5pm both days.

They offer teams for Mixed (all ages), B grade and Juniors from five years old.

Their A Grade team is online only, and you can speak to the club if interested.

Social team registrations are welcome, but so are single players who need a team to be assigned to.

Teams come each year to the comp from not only Medowie, but also Wallsend, Maitland, and  Newcastle.

The comp starts on the 6 October, with the first week being a trial.

Games are held at Boyd Oval on Thursday nights at 5:30pm onwards.

There is no training, just social games.

The comp finishes on the 2nd March 2017.

The club will also be fielding three representative sides for the State Cup in Port Macquarie in December – You can nominate for one of these teams, or be selected from games.

Fees are $500 a team or $600 if you don’t supply a referee from your team for rotation.

Juniors pay a fee of $20 per player.

All grades except A Grad are refereed by a rotating roster from all teams – A Grade is refereed by association accredited referees.

The touch comp has been lucky enough to have our local community-minded real estate, Century 21, come on as their major sponsor.

They are joined by SJ’s Hotel in Hamilton, MCA Engineering, Plus fitness 24/7 Medowie, A Redman power and Ben Nyland Engineering.

The Club is still looking for more sponsors for the 2016-2017 Summer touch competition.

A brand new committee has just been elected after three years of Dan Szarkun effectively running it on his own, but the club still need volunteers for line marking, canteen and juniors.
