BOTH local children and adults are being encouraged to put together an artwork for the up and coming Tilligerry Festival: Arts, Craft and Quilting show.

Held over three days, commencing on Thursday the 17th of November at Lemon Tree Passage Bowling Club, there are six adult section and 2 junior sections with a total prize money of $5, 275.

The event which is run every year is sponsored by local businesses and gives young, local children the opportunity to showcase their art.

Jule from Pet Portraits by Florence told News of The Area, “I decided to sponsor the junior section last year after entering for myself for the first time.”

“I can’t wait to see the talent of our young ones on display and i’m hoping the local high schools will help encourage entries from all their art classes as well.”

Last year Riley Bevan took out  2nd prize in the novas section with his cougar, as they did not have a junior section at the time.

Di Stubbs, Gallery Manager of TAG (Tilligerry Art Gallery) said, “The Tilligerry Arts Craft and Quilting Show is jointly run by the Tilligerry Lions Club and Tilligerry Arts Group.”

“It is part of the wider Tilligerry Festival which usually runs for a week and is just one of the many events held at that time.”
