The Marina has been awarded the coveted Platinum Anchor accreditation under the Global Gold Anchor Scheme.

Platinum status is the highest possible level of the Anchor accreditations, with only seven marinsa in the world accredited to this level.

The award was acknowledged at a ceremony on the Marina attended by Mayor Ryan Palmer.

The Marina is committed to offering service of the highest standard and a memorable boating experience.

Darrell Barnett General Manager of Soldiers Point Marina told News Of The Area, “We take pride in our ‘can-do’ attitude and for our experienced and knowledgeable staff, nothing is too much trouble.”

Only marinas that achieve an extremely high assessment score in all categories from infrastructure and facilities through to customer service are then recommended by the Gold Anchor Standards.

“It is truly an honour to be internationally recognised alongside some of the best marinas in the world.

“We are very proud of this achievement; however, this accreditation keeps us on our toes striving harder to maintain our excellent reputation and exceed our customer expectations at all times,” he said.

Soldiers Point Marina met and exceeded many of the category priorities including excellent infrastructure and maintenance of their facilities, utilising high quality materials, excellent design and aesthetics including landscaping and presentation, enhanced by the extensive use of sculptures and decorative features located both on the water and land.

The Marina boasts a floating concrete walkway/pontoon system, with the only 316 stainless steel marina in Australia built by Bellingham Marine, providing easy access and secure berthing.

The Brolga Lounge which is a floating space, hosts a guest BBQ area complete with sun lounges and outdoor seating, as well as a newly installed misting system on the louvered pergola for hot Summer days.

A second floating lounge area, the Albatross Lounge hosts a café and general store boat hire and kayak storage.

The main marina building also hosts the superb restaurants the Point and the Deck, a beauty salon, laundry and marine mechanics which enjoy what are arguably some of the best sunsets in the Bay.
