
RACHAEL Vaughan has made the difficult decision to leave her role as a reporter for News Of The Area.

She has spent the past 122 weeks, or editions in reporter terms, covering every story type the area had available.
Rachael is now well known throughout the Port Stephens community.
Ms Vaughan said, “The best part about reporting has been the extra connections I made in the community.”
“The paper has helped me to connect to so many more community groups and residents,” Rachael said.
When asked what her favourite story was she said, “I do have a soft spot for the stories of our young people doing great things.”
“They are the future of Port Stephens, and our future is looking bright with all the wonderful things I’ve been able to report on that involve them.”
Rachael has accepted a position working behind the scenes in Kate Washington MP’s office.
Ms Vaughan said she will assist Kate with all the work that she does within the community and in State Parliament.
Rachael wishes to Thank the community for their stories and sharing some really special moments with her.
Rachael said, “I look forward to still following the News Of The Area closely, and hope the community continues to support the newspaper.”
“It is such a special publication, and its success relies on our beautiful community.”
