Robyn Johnston, well known Tea Gardens Volunteer has died

Robyn was well known within the community and has been a member of Red Cross for seven years, a volunteer for Emergency Services and a breakfast club volunteer for many years also.

“Although Robyn was nearly blind, she was always one of the first to offer to do a job, from selling raffle tickets to helping on numerous stalls,” said Jennifer Wenham, President of the Red Cross.

Robyn has been Vice President several times for the Red Cross and shared the job of Social Officer.

Ms Wenham told Myall Coast News, “The day Robyn died, she was going to a Red cross Volunteer presentation at Merewether.”

“It was only when Robyn didn’t answer the door or phone, we had to get help,” she said.

“We were devastated when Robyn was found.”
