Gone are the days when the only sound you heard in your local library was SHHSSHH!

During the school holidays, the Tea Gardens/Hawks Nest Library held a very successful children’s program.
“The children laughed so much they thought their sides would split,” Librarian Christine Shelly told The News Of The Area.
Magician Quenorie Eades enthralled the youngsters with her bag of tricks and balloon making skills.
“The magician was able to involve the children in her act and managed to pour milk over Sarah without her even getting a little bit wet,” said Chris.
The magic act was subsidised by the Midcoast Council so families only had to pay $5 per child.
But the free board games afternoon proved just as popular.
Both activities were fully booked out with a waiting list.
The Tea Gardens Library plans to have more free, as well as paid activities, over the Christmas and Summer holidays.
