ROLLING pins will be hurled and brick tossed at the 56th Stroud International Brick and Rolling Pin Throwing Competition on Saturday 9 July.

The quirky event kicks off with a ‘Wild, Wild West’ themed Street Parade followed by non-stop entertainment and competition events at Stroud Showground.

The men will line up to show their strength in the brick throwing event with the women demonstrating their skills at tossing a rolling pin through the air.

Children can also join in the fun with a chuck a rubber chicken section included in the program.

The annual competition has been part of the Stroud community since 1961and is contested between fourInternational Stroud townships located in Canada, England, United States and locally in NSW.

Pipe and Brass Bands, Show and Shine Car Show, Wood Chopping, Log Splitting and kid’s novelty events are a few of the many activities organised to keep everyone entertained.

Secretary Judy Pereira said more than 3000 people were expected to attend the event.

“There is something for everyone with so many things happening that the whole family can enjoy,” she said.

“We held a smaller version in the main street last year due to the damagecaused by the storms and we are looking forward to returning back to the showground for this year’s event.”

The Parade starts from Cowper Street at 10.30am with the events at the showground commencing at 11.30am.
