“Not bad for a town of 700 people,” he said.

This year’s show will take place at the Stroud Showground on Friday 10 April and Saturday 11 April.

“We put on a really good country family show. That’s our aim and we don’t try to be anything we’re not,” Mr Harris added.

On Friday, entry is simply a gold coin donation for adults and children are free.

“Friday is more of a horse event day and we’re encouraging the kids to come along,” Mr Harris said.

Friday will see hundreds of campdrafters from across the country competing at the show.

There will also be cattle dog trials and horse breed classes.

Entry on Saturday is $35 per family, $15 for adults and $3 for children.

On this action packed day there will be a ute show, wife carrying competition, BMX and scooters competition, fence post cutting, dog show, dog trials, poultry, stud beef cattle and pavilion sections.

There will be a free animal nursery for the kids and a magician wandering around performing tricks.

The show will culminate with a rodeo, demolition derby, mower racing competition and fireworks.

“It’s going to be an absolutely fantastic afternoon and evening,” Mr Harris said.

Gates open at 7am both days, closing when the campdraft finishes on Friday at about 7pm and closing at midnight on the Saturday.

The show has been going strong since 1922.
