Organisers said that on Saturday 7 March the weather was perfect for their annual car show, held at Myall Oval Hawks Nest.

More than 300 vehicles and motorcycles were on display from 42 individual clubs from across the state.

“All had some interest to the young and not so young as many reminisced about the beauty of the older vehicles,” secretary of the Tea Gardens Hawks Nest Motor Club Phil Hoare said.

“The variety of vehicles this year was incredibly diverse and their pristine condition also won over many of the visitors,” he added.

He said team spirit from the club’s team members was fantastic as well as from the surf club and the Rural Fire Service whose members help to set up and pack down the event.

“Many of the visitors commented on the variety and excellence of the food available,” Phil said.

He said the entertainment was excellent and the Australian Army Pipes and Drums Band presented a great arrangement of tunes, with one member demonstrating his vocal abilities very admirably.

The local band Driftwood also added to the day’s entertainment.

The local police service attended with their Highway Patrol Vehicles and Local Incident Bus.

Motorfest was a great financial success with many local businesses sponsoring the club and the event.

The cheque presentation ceremony for this year’s  beneficiaries is to be held this Sunday 29 March at the Tea Gardens Pindimar Rural Fire Service.
