Stroud Show is set to be loaded with fun and entertainment

Of the many local community shows held annually, the Stroud Show is a standout event that, with it’s very own uniqueness, attracts visitors and competitors from far and wide.

This year’s Stroud Show will run from Friday 1 April to midnight Saturday 2 April, and with almost non-stop action and entertainment from when the gates open at 6am on Friday morning.

Feature events in the rodeo arena will include an Open Barrel Race, Calf Ride, Chute Dogging, Bull Riding and Open Bullock Riding.

For the ‘rev-heads’ there will also be a huge line up of motor muscle in the Ute Show and Demolition Derby.

Apart from rodeo style events the centre ring events will host the Midcoast Mower Racing Club Demonstration, a Dog High Jump competition, Kids & Adult Fun Races and the world famous Wife Carrying Competition which attracts a huge crowd followed by a Pavilion Auction and Fireworks at 9pm.

As the sun goes down the crowds will be entertained by well known and respected Country Music Artist Col Finley and his band.

Col and band will perform from about 8pm on the Saturday night till about midnight and like always will prove to be popular with a broad audience.

Speaking with News Of The Area, Col Finley said, “We’re all really looking forward to heading down to Stroud to play. It’s one of those iconic feature events that everyone makes you feel welcome and you feel like you are part of the community.”

“The committee have been working hard to restore the grounds after the floods last year, so please tell your friends and make a day of it, and help out raising well-needed funds for the future of small town shows like Stroud,” he said.
