“We’re excited to introduce the inaugural Lazy Paddles Dash for Cash,” Jessica Harris said.

The owner of the Lazy Paddles, Jessica said, “Teams of two high school students will race along the foreshore in our double kayaks for a chance to win cash”

The race starts at 11am but Jessica has asked for competitors to be at ANZAC Park on Marine Drive at Tea Gardens by 10.45am with a parent or guardian in tow to sign the permission forms.

“Lifejackets, paddles and kayaks will be provided by us as well as a safety briefing,” Jessica said.

“It will cost a gold coin donation to enter, with all proceeds going to Marine Rescue.”

There are a couple of dress standards as well.

“You’ll need to wear clothes and shoes, (no thongs) and be prepared to get a little wet,” Jessica said.

But with 3 prizes of $100 for first, $50 for second and a third prize of $25 what’s a little water.
