Coordinator Chris Baker told News Of the Area, “Around 500 people came through the doors which was a great turnout considering the extremely hot weather over the weekend.”
“We had a great response from our People’s Choice Awards in Photography with 330 entries and just under 400 entries for the Art Award,” Chris said.
“The Photography winner was ‘Misty Morning’ by Paul Mulvaney and the Art Painting winner was ‘Tea Gardens Waterfront” ( site of the original pool) by Joan Richards.”
Founding member Joan Wilcox drew the raffle for a beautiful painting, again the artist, Joan Richards, the winner a very happy visitor from Sydney.
The day too was very special for Joan Wilcox, who along with four other women began the Art Group 25 years ago, in a makeshift hut on the Hawks Nest Golf Course.
Joan was presented with a beautiful handmade visitor’s book, which everyone who went to the show was asked to write a special message.
She said, “I’m thrilled with the book and all the good wishes, it was a lovely surprise.”
