Tea Gardens Country Club helps raise funds for Leukaemia Foundation

Last month over twenty people including directors and staff of the Tea Gardens Country Club either shaved or coloured their hair in an event at the Club in aid of the Leukaemia Foundation.

A big crowd gathered to witness the shaving which was orchestrated by MC Sue Dempsey and ably performed by volunteers Olive McKeown, Angie Gimbert, Sally Tennyson, and Lyn Nightingale.

A raffle was conducted on the day by Dawn Engel and Cheryl Sutton and a BBQ prepared by Stew Dempsey, Gavin Stewart, Lindsay Babb, Dennis Flaus and Lee Campbell with all proceeds going towards the cause.

Tea Gardens Country Club General Manager Warren gooley said, “All in all over $10,000 was raised on the day for the Leukaemia Foundation which speaks volumes for the generosity of the people in our towns.”

Mr Gooley thanked all of the volunteers on the day, the many sponsors and everyone who turned up to witness the proceedings.

“If you wish to donate to the cause the Club will be accepting, tax deductible, donations up until 20 June 2016,” he said.
