Tea Gardens Hawks Nest Prostate Group are in Movember mode

Recent publicity has led to an outstanding show of community support for the Tea Gardens/Hawks Nest Prostate Cancer Support Group’s awareness program. David Darch with young supporter Corey Melyon

Service clubs, businesses, local residents and school children are certainly familiar with our group’s “Red Smiley” logo.

November has become the focus period for highlighting men’s health and many moustaches will soon adorn the upper lip of individuals as an indication of a commitment to funding medical research.

Several seasoned moustachioed local residents have heeded the call and registered with Movember not necessarily to grow a moustache but to encourage others to DONATE to the cause.

The local organising group is seeking one more show of support for those of our residents who are affected by the disease and also the opportunity to be involved in a Gala Family Fun Day.

On 30th November, Booner Street will be the venue for a morning of  family  entertainment with carnival rides,  face painting and a car boot sale followed by a “Movember Party” at Benchmark on Booner from 2.00pm.

Raffles and auctions conducted on this afternoon will raise money sent directly to support Hunter-based Prostate Cancer Research.
