In typical News Of The Area style, we needed to find out for the community where the Hotel is at, 12 months on from new ownership.

News Of The Area has spoken to hotel owner Arthur Laundy for some definite answers.

As far as the renovations are concerned, Mr Laundy said, “There are plans which have been approved.”

“As yet, we don’t know when the renovations will start, that’s still up in the air,” said Mr Laundy.

He also made it very clear that the Tea Gardens Hotel would not be closing its doors while the renovations took place.

The Laundy Group bought the hotel just over 12 months ago adding to its stable of 20 hotels across New South Wales.

It’s rumoured the Laundy Group paid around $6 million for the property which had been owned by Lee and Rob Anderson’s family for some 69 years.

The Laundy Group is also a family owned business, Arthur[Snr] buying his first hotel in 1945.

Steve and Trish Rodgers manage the Tea Gardens Hotel and the couple has big plans going forward for the hotel.

“Trivia nights are held on Thursday evenings with a $150 worth of prizes on offer,” Ms Rodgers said.

“There’s also a pool competition every Thursday from 6pm, a live band every Saturday night, free jukebox nights and special meal deals from the Bistro.”

News Of The Area have also heard the rumour that the Hotel has now been sold by the Laundy Group and new owner will take over as soon as May. We will get to the bottom of it and let you know.
