9 February: The Club Minor Pairs semi-final was played today in very humid, sticky conditions.

In one game, the teams of Col Saillard and Dave Perry took on Noel Jackson and Greg Smith.

In the other, the 2018 finalist, Gary Wynne and Graham Kelly opposed Garry Porter and Denis Wilberforce.

Col and Dave had a slow start trailing 4-10 at the halfway mark before mounting a challenge to take the lead at the 14th.

They held a 1 shot lead with two ends to play but Noel and Greg won both of those putting the result beyond doubt.
They won 17-13.

In the remaining game Garry and Denis led early but Gary and Graham managed a 6 on the 8th end and then powered away over the closing stages to win comfortably 21-10.

It was to be a Smith, Kelly final.

10 February: The final of the Club Minor Pairs was played today in very pleasant conditions.

Noel Jackson and Greg Smith took on Gary Wynne and Graham Kelly.

It would be fair to say that the final did not reach the dizzy heights with some scintillating bowls, although there were many fine shots played.

Noel and Greg established a commanding lead early and Gary and Graham just could not get into the game managing only 5 ends on the scorecard.

The juggernaut rolled on with Noel and Greg winning 23-10.

Congratulation to the winners and to all participants!
