27 July: Wednesday Nominated Triples was played today in very windy, but fine, conditions.

High scores were the order of the day with some strong teams making short work of their opponents

The team of; Dennis Ashbridge, Col Amos and Dave Rimmer could only manage second place on a massive +40.

A “puny” score indeed when compared with the winners.

Ken McKeown, Kerry O’Brien and John Carey blitzed the field winning by a massive +50. Well done!

There must have been a “pairs” game as Greg Smith and Noel Jackson took third place on +39. Great effort!

29 July: If there has been a better day for playing bowls this winter, I’ve yet to see it.

Friday 3-Bowl Open Jackpot Pairs was played today with 24 players participating in fine and sunny conditions.

With a “pot” of $420.00 up for grabs the aim of each side was to at least win their games for a chance at the big money.

The sides were very even and it made for some good quality bowling.

There was a three-way tie for first place determined by the side with the greatest margin.

All recorded a +9 score and a countback was needed..

Husband and wife team of Deyonne and Geoff Page came in third.

Kevin Barbie and Stewart Sturrock made it to second but it was the all-girl team of Lily Smith and Nola Jackson who took the money.

The two men they played are still dazed. Congratulations!

The lucky losers were; Wendy Brandt and Danny Johnson.

There were six winners competing for the jackpot however it remained elusive and was not won.

Next Friday the jackpot will be $440.00.

31 July: The great weather continued with the Sunday Introduction to Bowls with 24 players making the most of it.

The winners were Chris Stone, David Ransome and Stu Sturrock.

Lucky losers were John Atherton, Tim Grant and Lynda Richards.

Thanks to cook Barry Goode and Coach John Bilby.

Welcome back to Lyn Nightingale and new bowler John Hughes.

The Tea Gardens Men’s and Women’s Bowling Clubs will combine next weekend to present the 2 Day Invitation Over 50 Mixed Bowl Pairs which is proudly sponsored by the Palm lake Resort at Tea Gardens.
