Tea Gardens Women’s Bowls
TUESDAY 26 July: despite very windy conditions a number of ladies battled the elements to play bowls.
The format was two games of triples and a game of fours.
The winners with the highest score were Wendy Jones, Carol Hayden and Pauline Perry.
Everyone joined in to wish Wendy Jones a happy birthday, twenty one, again.
Thursday 28 July: Thankfully the weather was slightly better than Tuesday but wind gusts did prove a challenge to most bowlers especially the novice ones.
The final of the Club Fours Championship was held today, both teams played well, the winners were Karen Mcphie, Vicki Rankin, Lyn Green and Lorraine Harvey with a score of 25 defeating Kerry Faber, Carol Hayden, Wendy Brand and Nola Jackson scoring 14.
The Umpire was Kathie Rimmer and the Controlling Body, Margaret Smith.
Thanks to all the spectators who came to watch the game I know they would have appreciated the effort put in by both teams.
Everyone enjoyed lunch after the bowls and seeing both teams that contested the final being presented with their awards.
Karen Mcphie won her first badge in competition bowls.
Social bowls format was two games of triples the winners of the day were Frances Betar, Sheril Johnson and Deyonne Page decision made by shots plus ends. A great day of bowls, had by all.
