COMMUNITY Activity of the Year for Motorfest Award was presented on Australia Day at a MidCoast Council function in Forster at the Club Forster celebrating outstanding members of our community.

President of the Tea Gardens Motor Club, Juergen Seil received the framed Certificate together with a Gold plated Medallion.

“It was a proud moment for our local Club,” Mr Seil said.

The entire ceremony started off with twelve persons receiving their Australian Citizenship Certificate and that was followed by lots of Awards for different categories,

● Community Activity of the Year
● Sportsperson of the Year
● Young Citizen of the Year
● Citizen of the Year

The local Motorclub was first up and received from the Mayor, David West, the framed Certificate and Medallion.

Approx. 250 people were in attendance in the large Auditorium and a twenty person Band played the right music for this occasion.

MidCoast Council in charge of this event did an excellent job in staging the Event. Well organized, well conducted and an impressive ceremony.

Juergen Seil had to give a short outline about Motorfest, when and how it started.

“The original objective, part of the Club’s constitution, is to bring Tourist to our town and at the same time donate funds to local Beneficiaries, the local Surf Life Saving Club, the Rural Fire Services and the Clinic Bus who only receive limited funds from Government.”

Mr Seil said, “We, the local Clubs officers have achieved our objective with up to now, donating approx.. $125,000 since 2003.”

Next Motorfest is on Saturday 9 March 2019, at the Myall Sports Oval in Hawks Nest.
