Three million Australians are living with anxiety or depression and Beyond Blue is working to reduce the impact of anxiety, depression and suicide in the community by raising awareness and understanding, empowering people to seek help and supporting recovery, management and resilience.

Beyond Blue takes a public health approach, which focuses on improving the health of the whole population, across the whole lifespan.

They tailor approaches when working with specific population groups, and work in a range of settings including educational settings, workplaces, health services and online.

This enables the Foundation to be accessible to as many people as possible.

Local guy Hugh (Flash) Gordon knows only too well about depression as he lost his brother through suicide and he also has suffered with depression from time to time.

In an effort to support Beyond Blue locally, Flash has organized a fun-filled Trivia Night on Wednesday, 21 January commencing at 6.30pm at the Hawks Nest Surf Club.

Prizes to be won on the night include a surfboard from The Surf Factory, fishing kayak donated by Marlin Marine and Tackle, restaurant gift vouchers, artwork, signed memorabilia Waratah jumper and lots more.

Myall Coast News encourages you to come on board for what promises to be a great night out with your trivia friends, cost $30.00 per person which includes your meal and refreshments.

All you need to do is book a table of eight with Flash by contacting him on 0422 331 670 or by email on fgordon22@gmail.com
