“I received an email telling me I’ve been shortlisted in the Australian Photographer of the Year Awards in the Landscape Category,” Louise told News Of The Area.

The contest is run by the Australian Photography Magazine and is one of the most respected in the country.

“My portfolio is called Beach Magic and features photos taken on Jimmy’s Beach, Bennett’s Beach and Mungo Beach.”

“The contest is drawn in January 2019 and they employ a panel of 16 of Australia and New Zealand’s finest photographers to judge it.”

“It’s the biggest competition for amateur photographers in Australasia.”

Louise added, “This is my third year entering and my best results were last year with a highly commended.”

“I am very excited and thankful for all the support from my family and friends, and also the community.”

“I am very proud of how far my work has come and feel privileged to have my work recognized on this level.”

“I just love what I do, photography is my passion, I love to capture the beauty of our world and share those images for everyone to enjoy.”

2018 was a big year for Louise, opening her Photography and Art Gallery in Tea Gardens and winning 10 bronze medals in the Focus Awards.

Here’s hoping 2019 is just as successful.
