IT takes a community to grow and nurture a school and that was very evident last week when Tea Gardens Public held a ‘Thank You Morning Tea’.

“We wanted to say thank you to everyone at our school and the community for helping out throughout 2017,” Principal Mark Clemson said.

“It’s great that we’ve got a wonderful community that come in and support our school, whether it be a scripture teacher, the P&C, the View Club, the Lions Club, the Lionesses, Rotary, Red Cross, Staff, you could keep going on and on,” Mark said.

“It helps our kids out and we can’t thank you enough.”

To show the School’s appreciation a wonderful spread of home made morning tea delights was enjoyed by the dozens of people who were invited to the ‘thank you’ gathering.

And News Of The Area could well have done with a wide-angled lens to capture the joy in the room.

Principal Clemson said, “All of you have been involved in many different ways and the successes of the past year have been achieved with your involvement.’’

Students too have been involved in many community activities over the past 12 months, from Australia Day ceremonies to Anzac Day memorials.

And of course the school’s major fundraiser ‘The Easter Art Show’ would not be possible without the students, volunteers and contributors.
