The blaze, which occurred on 24 December, 2016, also caused considerable damage and disruption to the mill and its vehicles.

Following investigations, the 15-year-old boy was arrested and interviewed by police on 24 February.

He was charged with “destroying property in company by the use of fire”.

The boy was granted conditional bail to appear at Forster Children’s Court in March.

Police report inquiries into other persons, and other aspects of the fire are continuing.

Further charges are expected to be laid in the near future.

  1. Well done for the police on finding this youth and lets hope any others involved are caught quickly. What the community now needs is for the courts to bring the full weight of the law down on the culprits heads (and their families if required). Going soft on such crimes only leads to more of the same.

  2. i know that boy and there is another involved that I was close to they shouldn’t have done it to start with.
