The B-double vehicle carrying refrigerated goods was travelling in the northbound lane of the highway near Booral Road at the time of the collision.

According to the police report, the driver alleges a VT Commodore pulled in front of the truck abruptly, causing him to take evasive action to avoid colliding with the car.

As a result, the heavy vehicle then collided with a barrier wire, railing and the concrete side of a bridge before stopping about 270 metres further north.

Traffic disruptions were encountered well into the day whilst the vehicle and trailers were recovered.

No injuries were reported.
