Fly Pelican donated return air tickets for two to all in attendance who presented with their business card. The winner of the Fly Pelican air tickets was Mr Chris Crawford and the tickets were presented by Mr Marty Hawley, a Director of Fly Pelican. The topic of the Tomaree Business Chamber breakfast was Nelson Bay and its future. Presentations were given from Ryan Palmer, President of the Tomaree Business Chamber, and also from Port Stephens Council staff David Rowland and Jeff Bretag. Ryan Palmer said, “It is great to see to see so much interest in Nelson Bay and its future.” “We have been let down by our elected representatives and council for too long and have not seen Nelson Bay progress nor kept up to date,” Mr Palmer said. “The Tomaree Business Chamber will drive the community’s vision for Nelson Bay and not back down,” Ryan Palmer added. “We want to see a nice place for locals to live and for business to prosper and that definitely does not include a 21 storey building in our area.” Port Stephens Council delivered their presentation on the discussion paper entitled, “The Progress of the Nelson Bay Town & Foreshore Strategy.’’ To have your say and to view the document, head to haveyoursayportstephens.gov.nsw.au.
