Teen charged over hoax threats at East Corrimal

A teenage boy will front court next month on 10 charges relating to hoax threats allegedly made to five premises, including schools, since last month.

Detectives from Wollongong Local Area Command who were investigating the hoax threats arrested a 15-year-old boy at an East Corrimal address last night.

They also executed a search warrant at his home, seizing computers and associated equipment.

The charges relate to threatening phone calls and emails allegedly made to schools, a university and a residential premise between 21 August and 15 September 2014.

The teenager has been given strict bail conditions to appear before a children’s court on Monday 20 October 2014.
