Teen dies in crash at Seaham after car hits power pole

Inquiries are continuing after the death of a teenager in a single-vehicle at Seaham (Port Stephens LGA).

Just before 4.30am (Tuesday 18 September 2018), emergency services were called to East Seaham Road, East Seaham. It is believed a Subaru Liberty had left the road and hit a power pole sometime earlier.

The male driver and sole occupant, was airlifted to John Hunter Hospital; however, died on route.

Officers from Port Stephens – Hunter Police District attended and established a crime scene.

As inquiries continue into the circumstances surrounding the crash, anyone with information is urged to come forward.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
