Valleys Cricket and Coffs Colts win in latest round of Coffs cricket

Jamison Dawes took 5/17 in Valley Cricket’s win against Diggers Cricket Club.

VALLEYS Cricket and the Coffs Colts have both been victorious during the latest round of Coffs Harbour District Cricket Association’s first grade season.

Valleys Cricket won their second match in a row to start the season, beating Diggers Cricket Club by one wicket in their one dayer at Fitzroy Oval.

Diggers won the toss and elected to bat, and were bowled out for 120.

Jamison Dawes produced a sensational spell taking 5/17 from his 7 overs, while Reuben Carey top scored for Diggers with 42.

Valleys Cricket just got home by one wicket finishing at 9/121, with Reuben Carey the best of the Diggers bowlers taking 4/30 from 8 overs.

Coffs Colts got the job done in Round 2, beating the Nana Glen Lizards by four wickets at the Coffs Coast Sport & Leisure Park.

Coffs Colts won the toss and elected to bowl, and duly bowled out Nana Glen for 122.

The Colts finished at 6/123, with Cody Britnell top scoring with 44 and Troy Britnell scoring 42.

Sawtell and the Northern Districts Rebels shared the points with their match finishing in a draw at Richardson Park.

Sawtell won the toss and elected to bat, posting 8/176 from their 40 overs.

Alexander Cheers Flavell top scored for Sawtell with a knock of 47, with Aaron Singh the best of the Rebels bowlers, taking 4/21 from his 8 overs.

Needing 177 for victory, the Rebels were bowled out for 176 in the final over as the match came down to the wire.

Alexander Cheers Flavell backed up his top score taking 3/21 from his 4.2 overs, while David Schutt took 3/27 from 7 overs.

Coffs Harbour District Cricket Association’s first grade season continues this weekend with Round 3 matches in Coffs Harbour, Sawtell, and Woolgoolga.

Sawtell hosts Valleys Cricket in their top of the ladder clash at Richardson Park.

Diggers Cricket Club and the Nana Glen Lizards both look for their first win of the season when they face off at Coffs Coast Sport & Leisure Park.

The Northern Districts Rebels play host to the Coffs Colts at Woolgoolga.
