A car fire at Shoal Bay on 4 November kept the Salamander Bay crews busy, with it being extinguished shortly after it was reported to 000.

Volunteers of the Williamtown/ Salt Ash Rural Fire Brigade have also been hard at work, retraining with village firefighting crews involving door entry and cooling, correct execution of hose lays and clear communication.

The Raymond Terrace crew also attended a car crash outside McDonald’s at Heatherbrae on 5 November, where a vehicle had flipped.

Deputy Captain from Raymond Terrace Fire & Rescue NSW Giacomo Arnott spoke to News Of The Area about these incidents.

“It’s very lucky when we have these incidents that have the potential to be quite serious, that nobody has been injured.

“The quick work of people passing by to help out strangers and keep them safe is always great to see.

“A quick response by Fire & Rescue NSW crews always ensures that the community is kept safe and incidents are unable to spread or become worse.
