The PBL program, which stands for “Positive Behaviour for Learning” is a behaviour program in all five Raymond Terrace schools, that concentrates on rewarding good behaviour and not focusing on the less than positive.

It is run in other schools across New South Wales, and has been met with wonderful results and feedback.

Around three years ago, it was decided to move PBL out into the community and publicly reward the students on a weekly basis at the MarketPlace shopping centre.

News Of The Area will feature the winners each week within our publication, giving further public acknowledgement of the efforts of these students.

This week’s winners are; Jayden Maidstone, Hunter River High School – Awarded for his community spirit and thoughtfulness.

After being awarded overall winner for the Youth of the Year competition, Jayden kindly offered one of his prizes to the runner up.

Tyson Henderson, Irrawang High School – For displaying PBL expectations by always completing his work, showing readiness and enthusiasm to learn and always helping his maths teacher Ms Ryan.

Ashlea Hennessy, Irrawang Public School – For being honest and returning money that she found to the rightful owner.

Axl Hong. Raymond Terrace Public School – Showing respect for the lawn bowl greens and peers during sport at Raymond Terrace Bowling Club.

Stella Sandeman, Grahamstown Public School – For helping out at our school Father’s Day breakfast.
