WIRREANDA Public School has announced their School Sports House Captains, rounding out the News Of The Area stories featuring our peer-chosen, sports-minded young people who will lead and guide our schools this year in healthy lifestyle and sports competition endeavours.

Wirreanda Public School has four sports houses: Anulka, Banaroo, Coorama and Kinarra.
The Sports House Captains and Vice-Captains for 2017 are Max, Logan, Bailey, Liam, Nick, Jake, Eddie, Kimrena, Grace, Claire, Hunter, Holly, Isabella and Eden.
Sports captains play an important role in motivating other students and promoting a healthy lifestyle, not just because a healthy lifestyle has enormous benefits, but because sports captains are in a better position than most to influence the younger age groups at their school.
Wirreanda Public School teacher, Mrs Corynne Darcy, told News Of The Area, “Sports captains have a very important role within our school, and one that is not to be down played.”
“They are responsible for encouraging all children of all abilities and ages to give everything a try, teaching sports chants and leading their chant performances at events.”
“They are expected to be role models not only in wonderful sportsmanship, but also by demonstrating excellent team spirit to the younger students,” she said.
Good luck to the Wirreanda Public School Sports Captains and Vice-Captains for 2017.
News Of The Area wishes you all the best as you support and encourage your fellow students.
