Wootton man injured after fall off motorbike

At about 5pm 25 August a 54 year old man at a Wootton address suffered serious head and neck injuries when the motorcycle he was riding collided heavily with a gate post.

The man was not wearing any protection or helmet.

He remained conscious at all times despite suffering a large laceration to the forehead area.

Ambulance attended and conveyed the man by road to Bulahdelah prior to him being flown by helicopter to John Hunter Hospital for further treatment.

His injuries were not life threatening.

It is thought the cause of the accident can be attributed to the man confusing his abilities with his intentions combined with serious alcohol intake.

In a final twist the motorcycle the man was riding was found to have been stolen in 2007.

As a result another male at the location was prosecuted for being in possession of stolen goods with the motorcycle seized by police where it will be returned to its rightful owner.
